Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone has experience in getting a pup with a new baby in the house? My little one is 6 months old and I plan on getting a puppy. I was thinking that settling the pup in before my little one starts walking was the best idea so was going to get the pup in the next month or so. Has anyone done this? When's the best time for both the pup and my little one?
Hi Fi,
You might be better off looking at getting an older dog who has gone through the training period already. Puppies require alot of energy and themed with a 6 month old can be very tiring. When I say an older dog I mean 1 -2 they are still in a puppy play stage but have gotten over for the most part the chewing, whinning full on puppy stage. Also at this age they are still very young and you would not have to in any way be concered about the bounds they have created with their previous owner. Ideally you could go to a animal shelther such as dogs trust, ash, paws, DSPCA as they will be able to match your current style and circumstance to a dog and rescue dogs are amazing. We have two and they are so loyal and beautiful.
I hope this helps
