Description
Working Canine Association of Ireland (WCAI - www.wcai.ie) is a club made up of dog agility enthuasists throughout Ireland with branches in Carlow/Kildare, Wexford/Waterford and Cavan. We promote the sport of dog agility, while emphasing fun and safety.
The club offers agility and obedience classes and takes part in several demonstrations nationwide. We welcome dogs of all breeds, and handlers at all levels of experience, from the complete beginner to advanced competition, including junior handlers from age 12.
Agility is one of the fastest growing dog sports in Ireland. Both dogs and owners can enjoy the fun offered by the sport of agility. Agility involves the dog owner (called the handler), the dog, and a series of obstacles. Agility handlers instruct their dog through an obstacle course using a variety of equipment, using their voice and body language. The dogs thoroughly enjoy this challenge. Agility training together builds a strong bond between the handler and dog. Agility is for all types of dogs and owners. Whether for recreational activity, or competitions, agility training provides both dogs and their owners with hours of fun exercise!
